I love this picture! It´s wonderful and the childrens are so sweet...but, I would like to see the Firnafin and Fingolfin's families...the youngs Finrod, Galadriel, Turgon...

Your work is wonderful...I'm absolutely in love...I would like to say more, but my english is very limited...

*melts* I think it captures the spirit of the House of Feanor quite admirably. And that's as coherent as I'll be for a very long time, because they're all so indescribably cute. Smile -Claire

I'm impressed. Again. I love the expression on Feanor's face - and, of course, I'm delighted to see another one with Maedhros in it. *sighs* keep up the good work. ~Celebriel

Your work is really incroyable ! I'm your fan ! I have always loved Fëanor and his family , and this painting is particularly marvellous ! Could you continue to make so beautiful paintings ?
Sorry, I think my english is not very good.I'm french !

oH geeze! I just love this! reminds me of certain families I know! I love the serenity in the harpists face while chaos reigns around him! did I mention I love your whole gallery? Wink

Yes, i had a lot of fun thinking up this one. ^^ It's one of the pictures you can "live in" while you draw them, feeling like you're actually there.

Such great expressions...Maedhros: "Siblings...."; Maglor is so clearly ignoring all else for his music; and Celegorm and Caranthir look waaaaaay too much like MY younger siblings while arguing over a toy...Nerdanel so patiently exasperated and Fëanor in a rather bad mood...beautiful!

Guest's picture

I've always disliked seeing pictures of Feanor, especially after he left Aman, but this one actually seems to capture him in the "Days of Bliss"...great work!

Guest's picture

i love the expression on all the faces, especially Maitimo..."Eru have mercy...there's another one on the way." and Feanor in the background. "Hey, HEY! Stop it! Come on!"

goldseven's picture

I'm not sure about Celegorm's hair colour--I always wonder where he should have got it? "Fair" is often used for "pale-skinned" or "beautiful" in Tolkien's works too. Celegorm will get a full portrait soon, anyway. Smile

Beautiful work. I'm in love . . *sigh*
Well, I was already in love- with Maglor. Now I'm more in love. He's so calm, and so intensely focused on his music.
Feanor is just "aargh, is this really my family?" He doesn't look too pleased. I feel sorry for Nerdanel, who looks frazzled, with this many boys, and three more yet to come.
The young Celegorm and Caranthir are squabbling, as usual. And poor Maedhros, already growing into his title of Tall, is kind of bored with the whole thing- typical big brother syndrome.
One small quibble. Shouldn't Celegorm have light hair? He is called "the fair," after all.
This is a great picture. I think it really captures the family life of Elves- it's NOT all idyllic and serene by any means. Excellent work Smile

Guest's picture

Now that is a prolific couple, heh. Again, you capture the sense of life and its spontaneity and movements with the accuracy of a high-end camera snapshot! Great sense of family and love as well.

Maedhros looks soo sweet, it makes me want to rip him out of the picture and give him a hug. To bad he's just a character. You did a wonderful job on this picture; your watercolors are just fantastic. Great job.

goldseven's picture

I think they can both be pretty bad-tempered, can't they? Celegrom is the standing boy with the curls, Caranthir is the black-haired one sitting, with the reddish face (which is what his name means).

Guest's picture

Er, Celegorm looks younger than Caranthir, I fear. Except if, in fact, Caranthir is stealing Huan, and Celegorm showing that he, too, can be bad-tempered enough, huh.
But I don't think it is meant to be so, is it ?

Guest's picture

I think Celegorm is blonde - I can't see where he found his hair, since, what, one of his grandmothers had silver, his grandfathers had red and black -, but, still, I'm pretty sure he was blonde.
Great, anyway. I like the fact that no one can be mistaken for another.
Perhaps Fëanor looks a little too young, and I can't see why he looks a little upset...it doesn't matter.
...
As usual, your watercolor is awesome, i truly love it. Especially the work on the colors. In all your works.

goldseven's picture

Already there, the colour has just had time to dry! Smile

OMG, i was looking for a picture of maglor and came across your gallery. This is the cutest thing i have seen in ages.. *wants to adopt baby noldo now* and Nerdanel is soo pretty! Anyway.. i was just wondering if there would be any future amras and amrod pictures coming? *whimpers*

goldseven's picture

Feanor is the one at the back; he has black hair. Most of his children have inherited his dark hair, only Maedhros and Amrod, the eldest and the youngest, have their mother's hair. (Amrod isn't on here.) Smile

Guest's picture

Beautiful picure, but it makes me think... hm, it must be strange to have parents who do not grow old.

Guest's picture

Why do Feanor and Nerdanel have red hair and their children have black? I haven't read the book by JRR Tolkien, so maybe he explains it in there.

Guest's picture

I am so in love with this picture that there are no words to describe it. *melts utterly*

Wonderful work with the watercolors, and the details are amazing. Good job!

Art at its best.
