Artwork Description

It's a pirate lady, what more can I say? Smile I drew this a two day road trip, in a van with five children under the age of eight, and my sister (who was sick). I painted most of it on the way back. It's 11x14.

I like it. (: I really do, it looks great.

Her body's a bit too narrow, and it makes her neck look too long,

The road trip happened with very little notice. My parents moved to Germany with only three weeks notice, and my sister and I decided at the last minute to jump in her van and drive the 25 hours to visit one last time. It was pretty crazy, but I'm glad we did it. My parents always supported me in my desire to be an artist.

Heh. Yeah, drawing and then painting helped the time go by faster. That, and Gameboy. Between my sister and I, we had three gameboys--that kept the oldest three kids mostly occupied!

Ha talk about working under pressure! Kathleen, you deserve a medal for this, lovely work...I can't help but think that you held that self-same expression on your face making that trip! lol! great character, great colours and beautifully rendered!
