Thank you for you comment on my striking beauty image. I appreciate that a lot. This is a beautiful image and the title is perfect. I love the look on her face.

It is good, that we can expresse many different things in art - thank you, dear Guest!

Great colors, love every minute of it........Again, I have to disagree with a comment made by another guest. Art, be it in poetry, music, drawing, juggling or any expression that comes under the heading of art is a personal expression of the artist, sure, there are guide lines but they are only "guidelines" How staid and boring our "Artistic World" would be if we all followed like sheep in the footsteps of those gone before us and those yet to be "discovered" And yes, elaborate jewelery was worn ( according to history) by women in biblical days.

Meike, THANK YOU! Pastels are not that hard, once you get used to them, and I use pastelpencils for the details!

Brilliant "femme fatale" Rita! the colour work in this painting is just stunning, so vibrant and alive! marvellous details, bold and beautiful Smile

rita's picture

Thank you, dear Guest! I wanted the background out of focus for two reasons: Everything what is further away then the eyes are out of focus (so a wise and famous man told me in a book)and I wanted the main attention on her, and the background is colorful enough.

Thank you so much, Emilie!

Absolutely beautiful colors. So abundant . . . if that makes sense. The plants in the background aren't as in focus as the woman and the snake, but that's wonderful. Her hair is just excellent. It looks like you could reach out and touch it. I love the color of her makeup. The snake is pretty well done, as well.
