I'm sorry Kirsi! I misspelt your name! I will try hard not to misspell it in the future! ~Reluna~

I was surfing the web to find a cool pic of Alexander the Great, and, well, HERE IT IS!! Wow! I still can't believe who talented you are Kristi! I do hope you don't mind, but I just might decide to use this pic for a science project! Most likely not, for I am deathly scared of being arrested for simply copying a pic of the internet! Anyways, Have fun with your work!
P.S I LOVE the way you blended it! So...artistic! lol ~Reluna~

I was brosing the web in search for Alexander and Bucephalus pictures and found this...

It's so beautiful it's almost breathtaking. I love all your other works, they are impeccabe - but this one appeals to me so much. I'm crazy on all the Greek history and the history of Alexander the Great especially. This piece of your art is like an image of his soul and fate - the light and shadow intertwined, and danger embracing him, and his wild diamon which overthrows all peril.

(with respect and apology for mistakes for my english),

Now everyone is honoured Wink
Uwe,I thought about a movie poster while making this, but then I got a little carried away with that big head and I think it started to rule the whole scene a bit too much. But as you said, as a cover this kind of composition should work fine..
In the 80's were the golden years of illustration, you really lived a dream Uwe! I hope it never comes to that, that everything is just photo-manip and nothing is artistic or painted.
But I thank you once again, enjoy the movie!!

Now, that's what I call a big compliment Smile) Thank you so much, Simon, I'm honoured!

Wow- now I feel honored! If my art really is able to inspire someone than it’s really worth all the hard work, such a wonderful compliment means more to me than all money on earth – thanks!
Btw. that’s the kind of composition you have to do if it comes to illustrating a Movie cover/poster. You know I did lots of those movie-cover illus and it was lot’s of fun to do, and it was paid very well – hehe Wink – the sad thing is that today movie/video companies don’t need illustrators anymore cause they prefer to have a photo composition to advertise their product, so jobs in this field are very rare today Sad --- however, I still like this kind of composition cause I think it is a good way to tell a whole story with just one picture, as you did here. So you have not only a portrait ore just a battle scene, you can merge both together to a whole.
I also believe this could work as book cover illustration as well, I mean so you could show the reader for example an epic landscape at the bottom and at the same time they can get familiar with the heroes of the story seeing their portraits in the background Wink
However now I have to go and see the Alexander movie, it rests a long time in my DVD collection but I still did

Nice job, I thought this was one of Uwe's when I saw the thumb. Excellent.

kizalon's picture

Thank you so much Scott! I bow to your complement, your words mean a great deal to me Smile I think I'll do also a different version of this, the head needs a painting of its own... Wink This whole serie is going to be a one big study that takes about a year to finish!

kizalon's picture

Oh, that's very nice to hear, thank you Uwe!! By the way, I must say that your "Falcons"-piece inspired me with this one, it's such a great painting, I love it! Smile

Kirsi this is fantastic – I LOVE IT – you have a very own style, I knew this piece is from you alone from the thumbnail without reading your name – great work!

Very nice Kirsi. I really like the composition and your color work (great skin tones). Good facial expression too. A very cool painting, well done.

Art at its best.
