This picture was inspired by a blanket I recieved for my birthday in a park full of gorgeous trees. Both shown here.

Mixed media is my friend. I used Watercolor (KOI, Sakura) to do a light wash & Colorpencils (Prismacolors) to brighten it up. The outlines are Micron pens (Sakura). Heh, the blanket was a nice challenge. I have a real blanket exactly like that. It inspired this picture and was a key refference. Smile

i'm also curious about the medium you used.
what i'm more curious about is the way you drew the celtic knots. i'm impressed with the way they fold with the blanket so well, 'cause i've always found celtic knots challenging to draw. did you have a reference photo or anything?
