Artwork Description

I really tried to draw the Arwen who used to live in my head all those years, but that darn Liv Tylor kept getting in the way. I finally ended up with this. When i first read the Lord of the rings i was very very young. Young enough to not understand that the general idea about elves is that they are supposed to have pointy ears. And i'm still not a fan of pointy ears. and if they really are pointy they should definitely be short enough to stay under the hair anyway.

Nice picture but it would be improved a lot if you give her a nose bob.

Well, I agree with everyone else, the dress is beautiful! The way you painted it, with the greens and browns really adds a richness and a depth to it. I like how her face isn't classically beautiful, but it holds a lot of its own charm.

This is a beautiful picture. I always pictured Arwen as a tall, willowy woman. Half the time I forgot her hair was black! *grin* This isn't quite how I pictured her but it's still beautiful. I hope you capture many more visions such as this one in your art. You are incredible!

Very nice work; very beautiful! Though I must say, I know for a fact I've seen that dress before
(
http://www.yosa.com/catalog/wedding/romantic.html ), and intend to have one custom made like it as a wedding dress someday! You make it seem even better on an actual person rather then a dummy!

This is quite good! I am glad you tried to stay true to your mind's eye and not to Peter Jacksons eye. The biggest loss from the Lord of the Rings movies is that of individual art. Now the characters look like the movie actors in most cases. You have done well Anna!

She´s so sweet. Liv really gets in the way of my image of Arwen, too. Cool make-up you have on your photo.

I know how you feel. After seeing the films based on books you have read the characters never look the same to you!
Great picture, it really caught my eye as I was going through the fantasy section!

Exquisite. My only qualm is the nose, which seems rather too large, but the gown and hair more than make up for that. Love the purple in the background, very effective.

awesome................ The fact that you don't include lines in your art, only what the paint puts there, seems to be captivating me for the moment. @.@ *stares* I really really love the shading and such in the skirt too! mm... yesh.... I must try and imitate your linelessness sometime. It's pretty cool.
