Artwork Description

Free work - two lonesome fighters ready for battle… (one for all the martial art fans around here Wink
Thought it would be a fun idea to compose a fantasy piece like the work I have done for movie covers…
The first piece I completely did on my new puter, now able to use all the painter brushes I wanted to. Not sure if this piece now looks like “natural media” but at least I painted it as if I would have done it with real brushes and real paint, and as the process of painting this piece was so much fun, I think this will be the way I try to follow in future with digital media…

Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it Smile – thanks for looking and have a wonderful day…

Thanks so much for the comment Ed, I’m really glad you like my work, and if I’m really able to inspire someone to do something, well what more could I want. Thanks you!
As for not used to use computers, well that’s not exactly right, I am a graphic designer as well as an illustrator and have to work on the computer all day being very familiar with most graphic software currently available, no matter if it is Quark, Freehand, Illustrator and so on as well as some 3d software like 3d Studio Max, Cinem or the fun programs like Vue, Bryce, Poser and such. It was just a strange thing to actually PAINT on the computer, I didn’t really believe that it is possible to paint on a computer the same way as with traditional media. But Painter made it possible to me (for other people it may be another software), I am now after testing very many different things able to paint digital as If I would do traditional, and this keeps the fun while the painting process for me. Well sure at the end only the result counts, but for me very personally the way that lead me to a result is important as well, Hope that makes some sense Wink – thanks for stopping by!

I love your work. Your drawing skills are an inspiration to me. The piece came out beautifully. Perfect use of color. It's very good for been done on the computer, especially if you are not used to using it.

Uwe, this is so cool.I really like the movie, book cover look and You have nailed that natural media my friend! it really looks like oils and i think it's going to get very hard very fast to be able to tell the difference. Superb work!

Hello Mr. Ferris, I really feel honored about your visit in my gallery, cause I really believe you are one of the most skilled artists in our days (I just think of "King for a day” for example), so your opinion really, really means a lot to me! It seems I really go in the right direction with this piece. Now as I have the tools I have to learn and concentrate more on the basic things of a painting like composition, movement, dynamic and especially light.
Thanks again for you supporting comment.
Btw. – I am just Uwe, not Mr. Jarling,, I always think people mean someone other if they call me Mr. Wink
