Thanks so much Kristina, glad you like the mood in this one Smile Thanks for commenting…

Wow - the light creates a really pretty and creepy mood at the same time. Excellent work <3

Hi Cris – I really, really feel flattered about your very nice comment – if I really can inspire someone no matter how – wow – than all the hard work is more than worth! About the improvement well I only can give the compliment back, as I followed your work since I joined Epilogue I think you improved the hell of a lot as well! Well, I think that’s what it’s all about always try to learn something more and try to improve a little – step by step!
Thanks again for your wonderful comment and your all-time support, it really means so much to me – thanks!

It's always so refreshing to see your work Uwe. I want you to know that you're one of my favorite artists here on Epilogue - not only for your great visuals but to show your vastly powerful learning curve. You improve so much with each image and that's very inspiring. Keep it up man.

Dani you are too kind with your commentary – don’t know how to thank you for all your support – it really makes me go on – thanks so much. Well as for the style thing Wink – if my art is recognizable that’s definitely a good thing! I will just go on and do my best. Thanks so much for your insight and support my friend!

Hey Dani – lol – cool to hear your brother liked the cars – well there are man others I just need time to upload them – there are also many architectural renderings still to upload in my technique section – but it all need time to collect all the stuff and prepare it for the internet. Tell your brother my greetings Smile

Wow such a comment about the light coming from you (the master of light) really means a lot to me – but to be honest I still have some trouble to get the light right in my pieces, still very unsure when it comes to light – but I’ll do my bet and try to learn more about light… thanks for the comment Patrick!

Hey thanks for the comment – well about the headstall, you are definitely right – should start to use some reference some day Wink

I just read what you told Simon, about the ‘style’: well, maybe that’s not the right word, but you have to admit that there are some common elements in your paintings that make them recognizable as yours (at least those of your fantasy production). And hey, you can develope your own style and not be fossilized on it – you can experiment too, evolve! And you will be successful in everything you do, as long as you stay modest and willing to make better every time.

The light in this one is absolutely perfect, I think. I like the way you use levels to separate the most important subject on the foreground from the setting and the rest. Your latest comment on one of my pics reminded me that I forgot to tell you this: some weeks ago I was browsing your web site, and my brother was looking too. He appreciated especially the technique-architecture section (the cars). I had to tell you.

Very striking - the lighting and colors are super in this one. I love the armor on the horse, too!

Guest's picture

Very nice, the feeling of uneasiness and wondering what to do next is well rendered, and the horse armor is very elegant.
One detail though, shouldn't the horse have a headstall, it seems to be holding the reins between its teeth.

Hi Bill – thanks so much for your comment, as for the general opinion about my style, same answer as I gave Simon Dominic Wink

j-art's picture

Hey Sean, thanks for stopping by and commenting on this piece – much appreciated. Well as for the style, same answer as I already gave Simon Dominic Wink

j-art's picture

Wow – that’s a wonderful comment – thanks Simon. Well you know, as I want to be the artist without style Wink – now I have to try other things Smile). No seriously it is great to hear people slowly recognize something like style in my work, but really I love it too much to experiment to be limited to a thing called style, maybe my latest creations are going all in this direction, but that does not mean that I might try something completely other in future.
There is so much to learn, so much to try and explore it would bore me to death if I had to do always the same style Wink Also I don’t see my self as an artist, I am just a little illustrator trying to satisfy his clients, so most of my pieces are the ideas of other people (art directors), I am just the one who tries to make their ideas visible, I don’t think there is too much room for an own style. I mean if the art director wants something photo realistic – well I try to do a photo realistic picture as good as I can – if he wants it painterly – well I try – if he wants a piece with bright colors…. Well I think you got the idea Wink. My pieces mostly depends on the customers needs – if I would do completely free pictures, just for me, just to express myself, hmmm think that would be a whole another story.

j-art's picture

Thanks James your comments are always a gift to me Smile – Other-worldly, think that’s what I want to achieve creating the mood in my pieces, I’m really glad you mentioned that, so I’m maybe one step further…

Another cool one Uwe, have to go with the general opinion on your style Smile

pageaxe's picture

Well done Uwe!I agree, you have your own style going.I can recognise your works pretty easily now.

Another great work. You are developing a very distinctive style. I especially like the contrast between the fire and the cool fog in this one, and the horse's armour is good too. Keep it up! Smile

somerset's picture

Totaly awesome work, Uwe, the dramatic lighting and smoke adds such an other-worldly atmosphere to this piece, stunning!

Sorry Uwe, forgot to log in! the last comment with the light - thats me Wink

AAAAH another GREAT one! Uwe, what I love most in your paintings is, that you real have a dramatic light - and the background is superb, too.

kyena's picture

very beautiful color scheme and layout. The horse's armor is just totally awesome.

sdavis123061's picture

Man, you never fail to impress me Uwe. You always have such dramatic lighting and color as in this piece. Love the armor on the horse and the flame effect is very well done. Great stuff. Smile

Art at its best.
