Artwork Description

Worshipped as a God, and King of his domain... My tribute to a classic, about to be remade by none other than Lord Of The Ring's director Peter Jackson. I can't wait! Done in Photo Shop and Painter with a Wacom and about 17 hours of patience.

Thanks for the compliment on my speed but I'm afraid I don't quite deserve it as I realized that I made a mistake when I typed in the info about this piece. It wasn't 7 hours as I originally typed, it was actually 17 hours. I wish I could've done it in 7 hours. lol. Thanks for commenting Christiaan.

Aha! There you are, you finally got through. Smile Thank you, the facial expression on the Rex was important because it's really all you see of him aside from his tail. My mindset on this was that he's been stalking them for some time and was just getting ready to make his move. So I wanted him to have sort of a cunning and sinister appearance. As far as painting time goes, this one came to me really quick, it was just one of those pieces where I had an extremely precise vision in my mind of what I wanted when I started. When that happens for me the painting generally goes rather quick. (It doesn't happen as often as I'd like though. lol). Thanks for commenting Christiaan.

I appreciate you visiting my gallery. As I said in my comments no your piece, your gallery is quite an inspiration to me so I am reatly flattered that you took time to look at mine. Thank you for your kind words regarding this piece. It was definitely a labor of love by me and meant as a tribute to what became a great creative inspiration in my life. Yes, Peter Jackson will be doing a remake that is scheduled to debut in 2005 (last time I checked). I've read an early script that sounds fantasic as he's stayed very close to the original plotline. Of course if you've seen his Lord Of The Rings trilogy then you'll have no doubt he will pull this off with the quality and dignity it deserves. Thank You again for taking time to visit and comment, and continued good wishes for all your artistic endeavors. Smile

Absolutely wonderful rendering of me favorite ape. The t-rex face/expression is priceless. I love this.
Another King Kong movie? Wow.

No problem Christopher, believe me, I get my animal species names confused all the time. I must say though, when I visualized the T-Rex fighting with a giant Kangaroo I found that idea pretty funny. That would make for quite a humorous piece of art. Perhaps one day I'll paint that. lol Thanks for commenting. Smile

Wait a minute. Marsupial? This thing aint a kangaroo! A mind is a terrible thing to waste. I was trying to sound smart and ended up revealing my ignorance again. Darn.

It would be cool if a marsupial this big ever exsisted, I wonde if any skeletons have been found approaching something like this.
Looks like the T-Rex is about to challenge his authority heh heh.

Art at its best.
