Artwork Description

"This is just a big curious fellow who noticed something new in his territory this evening. He's been hiding just out of sight for hours, watching the strange looking, light skinned, hairless dwarves who have entered his world. Although tempted by the smell of their cooking meat and drink he has resisted coming closer until well after the creatures have disappeared into their odd, tiny den. Now he has finally worked up the nerve to carefully sneak up to take a closer look." Based loosely on a report of a Sasquatch who kept sneaking up to some camper's tent one night. Interesting that you should mention the blue/orange pallet. I really gave it some thought after I started to see the effect on his fur, but as I looked at the dark forest scene I was thinking that the light sources would be insufficient to carry it throughout the entire painting. I do love the look of that color combination and I plan to attempt it in another painting at some time. Thanks for your comments.

Perfect fur and color contrast on this guy....pose is excellent too. Man you have to do more Paintings with that color combination on the are working it pro with that combination.

Would have been cool if you carried it out throughout the painting. Have you ever tried the blue orange pallet thoughout a work? I have been wanting to try it myself.

Yeah, I like doing the fur on these. It takes a good bit of time to do but when it comes out right it's worth the effort. The dark settings seem to work well with this subject matter although the one I'm about to start on will be a daylight scenario. Check back again for more. Thanks for commenting.
