I once encountered a sasquatch that looked exactly like the one on the left.

this is a tight pic.

I have seen the creature in the woods I live in, these figures sparked my memory. One detail that is missing in your picture is that the fur/hair on the back looks as if they have long hair of a slightly different shade covering there upper back. You might add that to the edges of the back visible. The one I saw had white fur/hair though, so it might just not be visible on these darker specimens.

Thank you Darryl. I'm glad to see that this older piece is still appreciated and that you've noticed those little details that I worked very hard on, I think they add to the realism of the piece. Thanks for commenting Darryl. Smile

Great work on the fur and details such as snow being kicked up and steam from their breath. Awesome work, Scott.

Thank you Alexandru. I put quite a bit of time into that snowy background so it's nice to know it's appreciated. Not sure I completely agree about the faces though, the reason the shadows aren't heavy there is because I was thinking with the overcast skies there wouldn't be a real strong light source, therefore the shadows wouldn't be real dark. If you notice there isn't much in the way of very dark shadow on the bodies either with the exception of a couple of small areas on the brown guy in front. Also I didn't want to lose too much face detail since this isn't a large piece to begin with. Oh well, art is subjective and not everybody agrees on everything. Smile Thank you for your comments and input Alexandru.

Very interesting atmosphere, you've got it just right. Also the snow fx are one of the best I've ever seen ! Great job ! Just try to work some more on the faces... are too simple. Try to put accent on the shadows of their faces.

As I've said before Kay, to have someone of your abilities complimenting my work is a such wonderful thing. Yes, I guess for the moment I am "the Sasquatch guy", but only because I haven't been able to get some of my "people" paintings approved yet, lol. I have submitted a few more though so hopefully they'll make the cut this time and everyone will be able to see that I can paint something besides Bigfoot. Smile Thanks for commenting.

Terrific Scott. When you commented in my gallery I knew I knew your work and your name but had to come see for sure. You are the Sasquatch guy! Outstanding work. I have visited before and I hope I commented but sometimes they don't go through for me.
I like the black and white with the touch of color. You are a detail person for sure. Totally amazing. Even the breath. Blow me away...Smile

Thank you Christopher. Yes I agree at times they can seem quite fearsome but I feel that for the most part they are just rather benign and curious creatures who sometimes like to watch us, and at other times wish to be left alone. I try to capture those feelings in the paintings, to portray them not as "monsters" but as fellow creatures sharing our world, who are on occasion, moody just like we are. Thanks for the compliments and comment.

You've really captured the look and feel of these creatures based on the reports.
They seem like fearsome, monstrous creatures with that eerie human quality.
These pics of yours get my Sasquatch imagination going.
Nice work.

Art at its best.
