Artwork Description

As A child I was a wild, free spirit
Enjoying the sun, the wind and rain
My life was one of joys, not verdicts
Sucking in the information I could obtain

All people enjoyed equality
The African landscape was my home
Everything was new and special
Not like the now constant daily drone

A garden could be anything
From city hall, to stable
I loved to dance and run and jump
As long as I was able

The monsters under my bed were real
And so was my guardian angel
That was the time I could really feel
Right now, I am a stranger

I cannot as easily pretend
My house is a kingly castle
That rules apply, and I go bent
Under the daily hassle

They told me I could not walk on clouds
They told me thunder was dreary
I had to learn what life is really about
THIS world, not that of faery

But I have struggled and know better now
I’ve learned a couple of things
And I will try to show them all, how
Not all angels have need of wings…

Thankyou, after having seen your work it makes me totally honoured to get such a compliment about my colour pencil work! Gentle is a good word and I'm glad you liked my poem. That means a lot to me...

It's marvelous. Just like I imagined it when you allowed me to read the poem. The expression on his face is marvelous. So sad and yet full of love, somehow.

Art at its best.
