Artwork Description

The main character of this painting is maya/inka symbolism - the physical bodies of the Maya were said to be made from maize, and they reffered to themselves as 'the people of maize'.

Two figures on the left and the right are The Maize God Hun Nal (Hoon Nawl) - he holds a maize plant in his hands - the maize from which the Maya believed themselves to have been made. His headdress is actually a maize plant growing from the back of his head, representing the plant during growth.

The ornament under the Hun Nal is glyhp Cib (Seeb) - Flexibility, to allow oneself to be shaped by events.

The glyph above the Hun Nal is number 7 represented by line and two dots above it - one of the most mystical numbers.

The glyph that is on the dress is Ben which is coming on itself several times - and Ben represent number 13 one of the most sacred Mayan numbers. Ben identifies an areao of great potentian coming into your life. Ben is the energy itself, but like a green maize, you need to concentrate on what you are doing, or lose the opportunity for fruitfulness.

I hope you like it Smile
