Artwork Description

This was inspired by Charles De Lint's 'The Little Country.' (My favourate book). By passing through the MenAnTol seven times at moonrise you can enter another world.
I hope this painting transports YOU to another world.
The angle and lighting I have painted this in are unusual. I wanted to add to the atmosphere and create a magical air. Can you hear the faerie music playing?
I had to scan this picture in two sections as it was too large to do in one. This has created a slight line which I have done my best to remove and I hope is not too noticable.

Of course, I popped over to amazon to check out the book you mentioned, and I noticed that one of the author's other books has a cover by Thomas Canty, my favorite fantasy author. Just sharing! Smile

This is realy lovely. I'm unfamiliar with the book you mentioned, but as soon as I saw the picture, my first thought was that it depiected an old place, full or magic.

The colors are just beautiful -- it's peaceful, intriguing and just that little bit darkish. Great atmosphere that makes me want to know more about the place! Congratulations on this piece, and I hope to see more from you.

This is really magical. I love it! I wouldn't have noticed any line if you hadn't mentioned it. It's barley visible.

Art at its best.
