Die Regentrude, part 6 by cha-chan
Although not what I originally had in mind, I have grown quite fond of this picture.
It involved a somewhat new color palette for me, using a lot of earthy tones and avoiding black as much as possible. I didn't even have to force myself to leave a large part of the foreground unrefined, it came naturally with the story. For the Regentrude (a sort of rain goddess) is an allegory of fertility, under her feet long dead flowers begin once again to bloom. Had I drawn dead grass or whatever around the flowery trail the point would not have been stressed thoroughly enough plus it would have created to much of an unrest.
