Artwork Description

This is a Christmas present that I created for a close friend. It was mainly an exercise in fabric study - the overcoat is patterned after a Morrocan kilim rug I have and the sleeves were an attempt to capture the transparency of very fine crinkled gauze. (update: I went back through and took a lot of the red out of the face.)

Oh man, I SO need to redo the whole site. Completely agree with you. I was going through one of those stages, I guess. Need to re-do

Hey, checked out your site...it is very nice, the only thing I noticed right away was the text font...seems like you could find one that was less, I dunno, rigid? Less typewriter like? Something readable, but more ornate or hand made looking? There are many fonts you can use there and not have it look so corporate..unless that is what you wanted, that is!

I'm glad you like him! As for your favorite piece, I assume you mean "the High Priestess?" Don't worry, she'll be up here. She needs a little tender-loving care and a re-paint, that's all.

as always, Jennifer, your stuff never ceases to amaze me. I'm honored to have been one of your models ever so long ago. Its still one of my favorite pieces, but ok, i'm biased. Smile Your skill has grown since then; this is just beautiful! His facial features are yummy and his eyes are so intense. I like the complexity of his expression, which seems very calm on the surface... but rather like still waters. The shirt's gorgeous, and I like the smocking work on the sleeves. The braiding on the tassle is a nice touch, too.

Nice job doing complex fabric without muddling the picture -- and I love his belt!

Thank you Smile

This is excellent. Regarding the clothing, I think you nailed it! Especially the sleeves, they are well done. Oh, and his skin looks just fine on my monitor. Wink

Oh I went back in and fixed it. He was quite red, something I didn't realize until someone pointed it out.

His skin is not red, someone needs to put more cash into their system. He seems very affable, not the trait of a demon

Thank you, Elisa!

you did it, very good!

Interesting. Something I never even noticed. Thanks for pointing it out. No, he's not a demon. I probably got a little carried away because of all the red in the overtunic.

Is he a demon or something? His skin looks very red/pink.

Art at its best.
