The mythological Pegasus, showing the Hydra below, before their battle. Bellerophon tamed Pegasus at the Fountain of Mount Helicon to help him kill the Hydra.

Thank you very much --that was an exceedingly nice comment. Smile I did in fact use a reference for the face of the horse... wish I'd had one for the monster, he mighta turned out a little better! *giggles*... My mom thought it was some kind of plant... *weeps softly into her artist's apron.*

Oh I say! this must be one of the most beautiful faces I've seen on a horse for a long time (winged horses included), Abigail! lovely watercolours, so delicate, great composition!

Thanks-- you're right, of course. It should be the Chimaera. I believe it may have even been a sibling of the Hydra... ah, I get all those multi-headed monsters confused...

Amazing drawing. Just for ur future reference Hercules killed the Hydra, Belerophon aided by Pegasus killed the CHIMAERA.
