Artwork Description

Hamadryads were forest nymphs that were connected with the life-force of the tree that they were created to protect. If the tree no longer carried a life-force, the forest spirit, or Hamadryad, would parish as well. There main role in the life of the forest was to protect their tree.

This illustration was commissioned by Canadian based "Corporate Knights" for the cover of their October / November issue.

Incredible image, pure magic. I wish I could paint like this. You must work feverishly on your art. That pool of green water is where I want to live.
