Colored Pencil and Oil Paint. Older illustration but worth showing!
Boudicca was Queen of the Inceni around 40 AD There are numerous legends regarding her courage and leadership. In 40 AD she led a revolt against the governing Roman empire which had occupied her region for decades. This illustration is part 3 of a 3 part series that will depict both her courage and bravery against impossible odds.

It is believed she poisoned herself rather then being taken prisoner by the Romans (they would have made an example out of her).
