Artwork Description

Colored Pencil and Oil Paint. Older illustration but worth showing.
Of all the Caesars throughout history, Heliogabalus is known as one of the most cruel. Known for his perverted sense of humor, Heliogabalus would throw elaborate banquets that included such entrees as crushed glass, camel dung, and ostrich brains. One of his more elaborate events included the release of tons of flower pedals over his guests suffocating them. His rein was short lived spanning from AD 218 to 222.

I never knew the degree of realism that colored penci could be taken to: bravo.

He sounds like a very sad individual. But you drew him so beautifully. I salute you, but not this particular Caesar. You can tell him I apologize for the slight, he can shower me with flower petals if he wishes. Tongue

I love it- yet another one of your many, many masterpieces! I myself am fond of Roman History, in fact, I'm a freshman in Latin I. I don't know, but his face and hair sort of remind me of....(I forget his name)...that ne fellow of of the oldish Star-Trek shows..
Anyways, absolutely amazing. You talent is breathtaking, in ALL the works you do. I wish I had just 1/100th of your talent...I'm stuck forever being a band geek ;P
