This girl sits contemplatively upon a wall, staring out at what looks to be a post-apocalyptic world.
This is so wierd, but even though it's only a picture and it's not even of her face, I feel like I know her. Like you've captured her whole personality in this picture or something. That is really cool. I like this pic a lot.
What a thoughtful and wonderful comment! That really is a great thing to hear, when someone feels inspired to take the time to contemplate a piece like you have. Thank you so very much.
Steph, I have been sitting here for a half hour thinking about this piece. I love that you have made her so alive with her red hair. I also liked that there is an in tact brick path that seems to indicate possibilities for moving on. The sky in this picture is mesmerizing. It somehow saddens me not to see a moon and the vapors lower to the ground frighten me. I like that there seems to be a strong wall between she and the disaster before her. I am so moved and feel so privileged to be asked to comment. Congratulations on this fine piece of art. xox Ann
Thanks, Scott! Good to hear that it impacted you emotionally in some way. These kinds of comments coming from artists like you is inspiring.
Aww, you posted the haiku you wrote for this piece here! Thank you so much, you're too kind. *hugs*
Thank you! In the full size version that was made for the purpose of prints, each and every window is visible on those buildings. I'm so glad you liked it and that it created such thought provoking feelings for you.
Thank you so much, Rachael! I love how well her red hair ended up contrasting against the green in the background, as well.
I agreee with the guests, this is very well rendered and an emotionally powerful piece. Nice work Stephanie.
And in the distance,
the old city in ruins.
Only one way now.
I love this picture. Even though you can only see her back, the girl projects so much emotion with her posture ... not to mention the stunning contrast her hair makes with the rest of the piece. I also like what you've done with the cityscape -- It's dark with just enough detail to give you an idea of its ruined condition. Overall, the piece brings so many questions to my mind -- who is this girl, why is she alone, what happened to her world, what will happen to her now -- which is why I think I like it so much. Great job!
I applaud. Very captivating, and Marvolous detal on wall and the street. And the hair offers such a nice offset to the rest. I really love it.
