Hey, Carolyn. The transformation of the pumpkin is one of the most famous scenes in Cinderella. I wanted to play with the notion of Godmother as storyteller, and that the real gift of magic is how, through the act of storytelling, she transforms the way the listener sees herself.

Thanks, humor is a great way of drawing in and engaging the viewer. Plus, I can spend anywhere from two weeks to three months on a single piece, so I have to keep my sense of humor handy!

Thank you, Wenche. I enjoy the challenge of taking on different ages and body types.

Thank you, Rebecca! The free-motion embroidery on each one of the five panels of her skirt took me three days a piece. Sometimes I feel a little too close to the technical process, and it is fantastic when I get feedback on a piece's overall impact.

...that all of us picture as kids reading nursery rhymes and Cinderella. I love the pumpkin skirt.
