First version of this pose and setting.
Ha this is even better than your silver dragons, your colours fairly sing here! beautiful work, Vanora!
You have a very fanciful style, the use of your pencils reminds me of Anne Yvonne Gilbert. Her work is quite lovely and yours reminds me of her, not in any way that would be suspect mind. Your work is very original. Keep up the good work.
The pictures tend to be about 9" x 12" --- I tend to lose interest when working on something larger and don't finish it. I have a scanner with reasonbly good software to tweak the scan (exposure and color balance, usually) before it's dumped into a graphics program. Of course, the resulting scan is usually tweaked even further. It's the exposure setting that can really make or break the scan, though, before it even gets to being worked on in the graphics program --- if the mid-tones (and sometimed the shadows) are set too light, the scan will look really washed out and be a mind-numbing attempt to fix; it's often not worth the effort.
This is just wonderful! As is your snow scene...how big are the pictures? I have a terrible time scanning my colored pencil pieces.
Fantastic coloured pencil work! I love the way you did the rocks and background -- dark without making it boring. Nice work!
