Artwork Description

This is a picture of a female shaman with one of her totems, a raven. She also has a drum, which is used through out the world in shamanic traditions to invoke a trance-like state. Its mesmerising rhythm encourages relaxation. It is actually one of my older pieces, dating from 1999 (I was in ninth grade when it was created).

Well, actually it's just pen and ink...there is no pencil (although I'm sure I used it for the light undersketch).

This was created near the very tail end of my "obsession with pointillism" phase, so I was rather used to the insane amount of dots....but it might drive me crazy now if I attempted something similar!
