Artwork Description

She sits, watching generations come and generations go. Quietly watching. Quietly waiting.

My children (now adults) love gargoyles and dragons. I decided to create a piece that would combine these two things. As I was sculpting Liadan I began to feel that she was a watcher, and a protector, just as I was to my children as they grew. With the passing of time, I am less the protector and more the watcher, just as Liadan has become.

Now I'm curious as to what you may have seen 5 years ago? Liadan was my first attempt at a dragon so I think you may have me confused with another artist.

Seems to be a more refined dragon than the one I saw about 5 years back. LL

It's for sale now Smile You can find it on my website and also here in The Peddler. (The Peddler lists it as a print when it really is a sculpture. Sorry, no way for me to list it any other way)

I have no talents to do something as wonderful as you have done. My four year is a lover of dragons and he wanted mommy to run to the store and buy him one. Just thought I would let you know how wonderful it is to my eyes and to my four year old. Thank you.

I cast Liadan in hydrostone which is a very fine gypsum cement. It's fantasic for capturing details. It will even show my finger prints. Smile

As I am also a lover of dragons I like this sculpture very much. It has a lot of life of its own and stands apart from those generic dragons statues that you can buy everywhere. What materials was it you used?

Wow, no comments??? I feel so invisible.

Art at its best.
