Artwork Description

Jack The Ripper has always facinated me and i have sketched and doodled countless Jack pictures.

Finaly i have drawn and photoshoped one i like. The mood and shadows are just what i was looking for and the street is ever present with my gritty style, Enjoy Jack as he stalks Whitechaple.

Really great work on it. i have been searching for a good Ripper pic. the movie "From Hell" was good but Ripper 1&2 are good. when i saw this i knet it was Jack " the dark figure with the top hat and 18th century cothling and that blade pericing throught the night" what a great pic it is. would be cool if there was a pic of jack stalking mary kelly. ^ ^ just a suggestion. but props on the good pic of saucy jack. "Men will look back and say that i gave birth to the 20th century" Quoted Jack The Ripper

There's an image in my mind of each lighted window falling dark as he passes them, along the street. Reminds me of the passing Angel of Death in scripture, though I'm none-too-religious.

Just looking at the thumbnail, I knew it was going to be Jack. I absolutly adore this. The atmosphere is dark, creepy and heavy. I've always had a soft spot for victorian londo. Great job!

jack the ripper.. jack the ripper... niiiiice. very nice. and you really did capture the darkness and creepiness here. i love this picture. Wink

That is exsactly the concept, as is Jack IS the shadow rather than a human, Evil can creep anywhere, as if his form could decompose within the shadow and slip through keyholes and cracks in doors to form inside again, just a supernatual idea of how he vanished so quickly i guess Smile Thnaks for the comment Smile

Thanks, Friend

ah, yes. Saucy Jack is given justice here...
I love how the street gives off the color and then Jack is just this shadow invading. great job!

:stares at it some: Wow. Your realy talented. I love the way you depicted the shadows. How all you see from Jack the ripper is the blade. Youtook what was known about this murderer and what ou saw of him and melded it togthr making a picture of dark perfection. Kudos!

I'm honored, thank you Smile

I've always loved studying Jack the Ripper, and when i saw this, i nearly pissed myself. This is the best picture of him i've ever seen. ^^ keep up the great work!

theassassin's picture

Thank you my friend. The atmosphere is what i aime to create and if it has worked then excellent. Smile

That's very beautiful. You are truly talented. It creates an atmosphere all its own when you look at it. I love it.

Johnny Depp movie i take it? well i had a few influences from there yes, but i have always seen Jack as this perfectly silohetted man tailing his victims on a cobbled street anyway, its basicly a typical, traditional Jack The Ripper picture.

theassassin's picture

my main goal is to capture mood and emotion rather than having apsaloutly perfect art, i think mood and atmosphere is a little more important in a situation such as this piece.

Guest's picture

i love it. beautiful. feels like it really is from the actual movie Tongue good job!

Definitely captures a spooky, creepy atmosphere.

Thank you very much, its a very simple process in Photoshop and really easy to create some great effects in mood. Cheers for your comment.

Even before I saw the title I already knew it's Jackie. Very nice light- scattering effect gives the piece the typical victorian London atmosphere. Keep it up!

Cheers!

Art at its best.
