this is one of my favourites from your wonderful gallery.. though he's a tough soldier, he looks like he's stopped to take a break and just dream. I simply love this Smile -- can't believe I didn't leave a comment here before --

Your gallery is great...Can you tell me if this picture is a "sequel" to the "SHOW ME YOUR GOD" picture?Seems to have the same figure and felling.Keep it up

Beautiful painting Matt. Man, you just astound me with your landscapes, and your lighting on this is fantastic. Great work.

i love how this piece could have easily been just a landscape piece but you must have listened to that little fantasy voice and put the guard and his"mount"fantastic job honestly dont think you could have done anything else to it.

Looks great now. I especially like the mountains, they give a good impression of size.

I had such a lot of great help with this in the wip forum which made it much less dificult to fix! I think I'm going to have to stop painting rocks though, there starting to be in all my paintings LOL!

A great piece in a great gallery. Amazing how you could take into account the comments in the WIP while at the same time keeping the magic atmosphere of the initial piece!

Yes Matt I saw it in the WIP forum – unbelievable how fast you are able to do changes, you changed light and perspective in no time, thinking about all the details (just look at those rocks) I never will understand how you do it!!! However all the extra work you put in this was more than worth it – this piece is spectacular! And your sense for realism without making the piece look to “photorealistic” is second to none – another really great work from you!!!

Absolutely stunning, Matthew, the textures on those mountains and rocks are amazing, spectacular lighting too!

Art at its best.
