watercolor. Based on a friend's story.
The ghost does have sort of a "dead Lenore" quality and the picture could probably use a raven to mock the poet.
Love this painting! Watercolor? That's amazing. The painting gives off this Edgar Allen Poe feeling, I think. Either that or I read too much Edgar Allen Poe.
Thank you ! Unfortunately, I spent more time than I should on this picture. (Knowing when to stop is a good thing to learn for an artist...and I'm still learning.)
this is a really good watercolor picture. im an artist my self and i cant paint watercolor like this. the ghost is elegant. you must have spent alot of time on this.
Never saw a more elegant ghost !
Thank you! Yes, it's one of my older paintings before I discovered gouache.
wow. Good job. The ghost truly seems... er... uh... ghostly... and.. *looks at the piece of paper lying on the floor* Raine Szramski... 1997... Was this made in '97?
Thank you! This picture was based on a story written by a friend of mine and she owns the original now. The man is a poet who drinks too much after the woman he loved was killed by his rival, who also loved her. But the poet blames himself.
The other version you thought of could work just as well!
wow, georgous, to me it looks like the ghost is an old lover, and the guy maybe a drunk who killed his lover, and his lover is back to haunt him and take him to the grave for what he did. great colors used though, gives an eeery effect. nice job.
