A beautiful nymph is overcome by the temptation to gaze into a book of sorcery.
This is really stunning! And like everyone else who commented, I can't believe that this is colored pencil. It's very beautiful and extremely detailed and I love her face... it's so smooth and pretty. The only crit I have is her hair is a bit too stringy and I would have liked to see is as more solid pieces... but it doesn't even take away from it--It's still gorgeous and even believable. Anyway, I also wanted to compliment you on your use of color... I think you've tied everything together very nicely.
Thanks for the nice comments on my drawing. I had submitted my first pieces back in November and never heard back from Epilogue, so I assumed I wasn't accepted. I went back to the site yesterday and was suprised to find my piece there, along with several nice comments. This all goes to explain why I hadn't replied to your message sooner.
The original is 13" x 17". I work in Prismacolor pencils on a dark gray matboard, and the process is very slow, building up layer after layer.
I'm curios to know what kind of surface was this done on and what were the dimensions. I used to do nothing but colored pencil, but sadly gave it up believing I needed to broaden my horizons. This is absolutely beautiful, I had no idea such a composition could be achieved using only colored pencil. Props to you on your extraordinary work.
Great work. Maybe her face is too much holywoodish but that is small minus.
Beautiful, she looks like a young Jodie Foster with long dark hair.
Very good work.
