Artwork Description

The star-crossed lovers on their first anniversary.
Juliet's left hand bears the wedding band from their secret marriage. In Romeo's hand is the empty vial of poison with a decorative asp around the throat of it. He took the poison when he thought Juliet had died. Juliet was not dead, but had taken a sleeping potion to feign death. When she awoke and found Romeo dead with no poison left for her to drink, she plunged a dagger into her breast and thus joined her true love.
The lone mouse is their only guest at the celebration in their tomb.

Romeo and Juliet happens to be my favorite Shakespeare book. I never really had a 'thing' for skulls and death but your work is utterly amazing! It depicts every detail extremely well!

There's something gruesomely enchanting about your subject, certainly it attacks us at our very sympathies, nonetheless, the undead lovers are brilliantly designed. You've shone you have a very weird side in artwork, Madeline, and I enjoy that in an artist, whatever their field.

Well done.
