Artwork Description

Esperanza - An aztec maiden of demi-Spaniard lineage, was believed by the high priests of the Temple of Chalchiuhtlicue ( the goddess of rivers, streams, youth, beauty and erotic love) to be the human embodiment of the goddess herself due to her uncommon genetics and beauty, and was thus taken away to the temples to perform her divine duty.

The Goddess' precious flowers and symbols were tatooed on her body, and her lips were punctured by the fangs of Quetzalquatl. Aztec gold and rare feathers adorned her hair, whilst her form was wrapped in royal sheaths.

Ps 7 approx 20 hours - Oh the details...took...forever haha but pushing new boundaries with patience is always good.

Alot of research on Aztec mythology, dress code and body art was conducted for this piece - I hope the elements are well reprezented.

Thank u for viewing, comments and critique always welcome =)

Lovely, I like the way you duplicated the color of the peacock feathers on her eyelids.

Art at its best.
