Thanks a lot. I have always liked red, it is such a strong colour, though this is the first time I have used it as the only colour in a picture.

Thanks, Walt. I know the unrelieved red was a bit of a risk, but I'm glad you think it works, and rotting flesh is quite fun to paint.

Wow! All in red and it works beautifully! Delicious detail and deceptively powerful simplicity. Look at that face!

You are very kind, Steven, and I'm glad you like my work. This one seems to be leading me in a new direction - I don't know where it will end up!

oh master forgive me, i haven't visited you for a while and have fallen behind with your latest work, and as ever,as are most people out there, i'm stunned by your work, this one i really love, (bit scary!!!) but all of them are wonderful, i giggled out loud at the scrawney rats in rat chat...and the detail...and the colours... malcolm, you're a one off.

Thanks, Pierre. I shall have to re-read the story first!

Thanks, Uwe. Your comments are always greatly valued. I seem to be in horror mode at the moment.

Thanks, Steve. The blood robe seemed a logical thing for the Red Death. I'm glad it works.

I really love your pieces inspired by Poe. Anything about Arthur Gordon Pim one of these days ?
