Artwork Description

In 2001 I saw an image of the Orion nebula and thought "hmmm, that resembles a bird." Then after a few weeks I saw the bird again, in the window of a shop. It was the Egyptian crane, the benu. After a little research I found out that the benu is the bird the Egyptians used for the phoneix mythology. I found the connection between a bird rising from the ashes and suns created from gasses remarkable and just had to paint it. This is my last airbrus painting so far.

This is impressing, like the story, too, glad to know - and you captured it well.
