Artwork Description

This is a 60cm (23.6" ) tall sculpture I made modelling some clay, then having (lots of) plaster of Paris moulds of it, and casting it with plaster of Paris as well.

I called her Dolcemuta, which means something like "Sweetmute". Don't know where the name came from, she just started being Dolcemuta in my mind, while I was modelling her.

Can't see why you don't have comments on this one. Anyway, i love the way you contrast the vulnerability of her posture and expression with the oddness of her sharp facial structure and red eyes. Of course, she's also simply extremely well modeled, particularly her hands and wrists and the folds of her legs. All in all, beautiful.
love the upraised shoulder too. though.. the cords in her neck seem a bit odd. It could be just from this point of veiw, but it looks as if her collarbone is shifted to the left more than her posture calls for.

Art at its best.
