Artwork Description

This is the first production (first cast set) of my Lovecraftian chess set. Originally sculpted in wax, then cast in hydrostone. The pieces are based on descriptions of creatures from H.P. Lovecraft's fiction, including Cthulhu, Nyarlathotep, Dagon, Hounds of Tindalos, Shoggoths, and Deep Ones. The Kings (Cthulhu) have stones set in the eyes; rubies for the white and pearls for the black.

I want this set! I've seen many interesting chess sets but this one takes the cake. Great job!

Please do. I'd be happy to receive an email from anyone who is interested.
I was not formally taught, but I'm not completely self-taught either. I have been "taken in" by several very skilled mentors through my life.
I did graduate from a 2 year trade school course but I don't consider that to be "formal training" since the course was, well, pretty useless compared to the mentoring I received.

Amazing work. Mind if I email you as well?
+ Where did you learn to sculpt so well? are you self-taught?

Thanks, and yes, it is already being produced for sale. If you'd like more information I'd welcome an email.

That's awesome. Is it going to be produced for sale?
