Ok, thanks! I will keep looking back at your site over time for those tutorials!
I've tried to use painter but havent been successful at it. My work is done in photoshop. The oil effect is created by a few different brushes but also largely relies on smudging/smearing techniques. Photoshop has a good aray of brushes, you just have to test them and find the ones that work for you.
One of my tasks this year is get up tutorials on my site for different things. I'll jot down to do one on smudge and smear effects
How do digital artists like you achieve this wonderful oil look with digital? I have an archaic version of Corel Photopaint 8, is it posible to do something like this with that program? Would I have to create custom brushes? I have heard that in some paint programs, there is something called "gel layers" that produce a smeary oil effect when painted on, did you use a gel layer? Thanks.
