The portrayal of emotion on the girls face is amazing. The moood surrounding her in the wood, water, and involving the bird are also well portrayed. It can be considered funny while yet sad, possibly a little dark, hinting at a once enjoyable and luxurious past, a traumatic present, and a bleak future. You have great talent.
I like the realism of your subject, it makes her seem more like a true woman
I see it as Guinivere, when she lost her way in the mists and slipped accidentally into Avalon.
i also think of the "Lady of Shalott".
but she doesn't have her boat...so maybe she swam the whole time?
But in all seriousness, it seems kind of...creepy? The woman's face is either sad or in fear...i like the emotion. Great job.

This to me represents the fall of King Arthur and what sadness it bought to those that loved him! Maybe this is his Queen that betrayed him.
very nicely done. the colors are especially the "high point of the picture. beautyful indeed.
This painting is very beautiful! Keep up the good work
I sense that looking at the art the lady was once beautiful and peaceful in life, the dress that seh's wearing is stunningly beautiful. Yet her face shows utter despair and desolation, as if she has lost all meaning to life.

Thanks! You make me smile, too
I like Waterhouse's paintings.
"The Lake" was just a small experiment to weave into it different symbols...
I am glad that someone sees something spooky, other - funny in this painting!
At the moment I work on digital painting...hope I finish it soon!
I'm sorry if this painting isn't meant to be humorous, but it made me smile to think the Lady of Shalott in the famous Waterhouse painting fell out of her boat and is climbing ashore in search of dry clothes. Lovely painting!! Love the bird! : )
ooh, I get to be the first comment. This has a very spooky feel to it, but there is also something very natural about it which I like. Good job hope to see more from you.
