This is nice work. Brave of you to tackle foliage, plants are the worst with a pencil.

Im glad you like it Smile I'm happy you noticed the foot - it is in fact raised in the air, the point being that the woman is not physically settled. Notice the shadow of the foot is slightly below and to the right, the only way i felt i could have made it look raised. I've forgotten what its called artistically but its one part of a melange of clues ive left in the drawing pointing to an underlying motif.

Thankyou helena Smile

This is a beautiful piece! I love it... so detailed. I get a mystic feel and I love that statue.

The only thing that stands out to me is the foot, I feel there should be a shadow of some sort. It looks as if its floating.. But its still great!

Thankyou for the flattering comment! Im glad you agree, though of course everyone is entitled to a civilised critique. I think theres a certain level of acceptable imperfections/skews that can be seen as a distinctive style. If i get more of my art up here then hopefully you can spot the consistency in that style. As for what paper - I'm not really sure. Its the tougher than and definitely not cartridge paper that is "designed" for use with pencil - i had torn off the cover ages ago so i dont know if there are any "specifications" (if they exist for paper). Oh and, A3.

Stunning realism. The first comment was too picky I think. You have to have leeway for the artist's style. Like you said, it is in fact a drawing and not a photo, but damn near a photo it is Smile. What kind of paper do you use?

Appreciate the critique, though i wasn't going for photorealism, and do not see that as the ultimate goal. Additionally, it is an A3 drawing, and the camera blurred most finer details - on the actual piece you can see the whites of her eyes quite clearly for example. I will try and find an A3 scanner in the meantime!

Thankyou! I'll try get more up while i can.

I don't know about it looking good enough to be a photo BUT it is very well done (I think the girl could have used a tiny bit more work to make her appear more rounded...and I think her profile could use a tiny bit of work. Having said that, the upper 2/3rds of the piece is really gorgeous...and the idea in general is very interesting as well.

This is so beautiful. If I didn't know this was pencil, I would think it was a black and white photo. You are an excellent artist. Keep up the brilliant work. I hope I will see more.

Art at its best.
