Artwork Description

Media: watercolor and colored pencil on Arches Hot press watercolor paper.

This painting was inspired by a photo reference I got from a my good friend and fellow artist Denise Garner. If she looks familiar that's because I also used her as the model for 'A Fool's Love". You can see her Artwork at http://www.towerwindow.com.

The flowers around the boarder are 'Dittany of Crete', used as a medicinal plant to ease child-birth or heal wounds. In magic practices it can be burnt to manifest spirits.

Her gown and hair pin are a nod to some of my favorite Victorian artists, Waterhouse and Rossetti.

*whines for a tutorial!* And thanks for the kind words in my gallery; it was the screamin' colors, wasn't it? Anywho, I SO dig this lovely, lovely painting. I simply must pick your brains for how-to's...

This looks beautiful - and at the same time, slightly unsettling. Wink Great job!

Art at its best.
