Westiel the Golden Prince by sbgothik
So this is the trouble that I got into this past Labor Day. Since I've had the sculpting bug really bad for several months now, and I was given two days off from work for the holiday, this little guy is the end result. I've always wanted to make a free standing sculpt and decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a great release of some pent up frustrations and chance to try out a unicorn design I plan to eventually paint, when I have the time.
Standing at about 4 and a half inches tall, Westiel is made up of a mix of Sculpey 3 clay and super Sculpey clay and is completely hand molded. His legs were made and baked first and everything else was created afterward. He has no wire armatures inside, no mesh, no foil.
The end results weren't quite what I expected and I'm having to put him on a base anyway because one of his legs refuses to allow him to properly stand, but I'm happy with the turn out none-the-less. He'll make a great portfolio piece at least.
