Artwork Description

And so the infinite loop was broken.
I finally decided to call this one done. I deleted the unfinished layers and said goodbye to the time spent in vain on the rest of her headpiece and what she would have wore on her back and shoulder. I've been clinging to this piece for way too long and simply kept going back to it again and again and again, reworking this or that again and again and again. There are still part of it i'd go back to at this moment but i am putting a stop to this nonsense.
This one had no particular story behind it. It started as a random portrait for some project that never happened. But not too long ago, i decided to give her a name: Aschlith'rr and i will be giving her a small place in the world i've been shaping in my mind for so long. I guess that despite the infinite loop and frustration this one gave me, i grew fond of her.
I want to thank everyone that ever gave me a comment, a critique or a suggestion in the progress of this portrait. I learned so much while painting it and i guess that is partly why i kept going back to it; i wanted to go and fix it with my newly acquired 'knowledge'.

Really amazing job! The beauty marks really brought her to life. And her eyes are so brilliant! Sometimes less is more, and you really proved it with this piece! Fantastic work!!

She looks like a ashlander wise woman from the game TES3: Morrowind... She looks so much like one of those Dark Elves I was surprised not to see the game mentioned in the description. It is a very good piece Smile

I like this very much. I think leaving her shoulder bare is actually a nice touch. I love the beauty marks on her arm and back. She looks natural and it's absolutely lovely.

It's a nice achievement. I like the skin tones very much, it is very difficult to go for grey-like skin tones and still make them feel like living skin.

Art at its best.
