Artwork Description

When I name a picture, sometimes it is obvious and easy to come up with a title, sometimes it is an obscure process. That is the case here. I had decided that I wanted to call the character Panacea. I liked the sound of the word and it means universal remedy which sounded pretty cool to me. When painting the background, it started to have that look of pictures of star clusters or galaxies. A nebula is a luminous patch made by a cluster of distant stars. And so a title was born.
The 'wings' are an energy field rather than conventional wings which allows gliding and forms a protective shield. Pretty handy I thought.
The reference for this Painting was from a photo I took of the model Heidi who can be found at

Cooooool...I especially like the layout of this one. You have such a precise, delicate hand. Nicely done, on all of them!
