Artwork Description

I just finished this critter today - he began a few days ago as simply an experiment to draw something using a new set of water-soluble tinted graphite pencils I couldn't resist buying. I just fell in love with him and completed the picture totally in the tinted graphite. The colour of these pencils can be subtle if used dry but the brighter hues appear when you brush water over them. I called him the Lesser Spotted Dragonet, but my son suggested he could be "Draconis edulis"...

Thank you Smile I love drawing plants (I originally studied Botany), and sometimes combine elements from different plants to create 'alien' or fantasy species Smile
