Artwork Description

Is this devilish lass evil, merely mischievous, or something else entirely? It is easy to judge her flesh, but her true nature can only be found within her heart and soul.

This image took me forever to complete.... and I'm still really not sure its totally done... but I've given it as much attention as I can for now. I might pick it back up later. Mostly done in Painter X with a bit of Photoshop thrown in towards the end. I still havent figured out how to blend the way I'd like to in the final stages within Painter and had to jump back to Photoshop for final skin tone blending.

As always I learned a lot with this image, as I always do with each piece. I was trying to improve my understanding of dynamic lighting, planes, landscaping, composition, color blending, and the list goes on. As you can tell I still have a lot to learn. Laughing out loud

It's a nice paint, and i think u have done a really amazing work with it. I wish i could make something like this with photoshop, but dont know much about using it. I think the problem u have with the paint might be the purple shadow she have in her legs( the place she is sat) seems like she's sat in the water or something alike. I think it must be more lower bcoz the lava should give a light to her body coz she's at the edge, and the edge a lil of shadow making the purple shadow lower in her right leg. The purple shadow can go like from lower in her right leg and then going a bit more higher in her left leg Laughing out loud I know doing this kind of things might be difficult, but i just wanted to help a bit.Hope this helps u and have a nice day.

Thanks. Laughing out loud Glad you got some enjoyment out of it, at the time I had been thinking that devils probably play in lava like we do water.... which is kind of interesting.

Thanks. It's one of the many things I'm trying to continue to improve upon.

I adore her expression, and the way she's dipping her toes in the lava ;D Nice layering on the lava, too, and I love the contrast of blue and orange, very appealing to the eye... plus I just have a soft spot for devilgirls Wink

I absolutely LOVE the way you use the light!

Art at its best.
