The Wife; The Sun by poppies
Excerpt from tale: The cursed the lovers. Emul was transformed into a handsome, massive bird of ice, white and beautiful and pure. His wife, his poor wife was transformed into a beautiful, graceful bird of fire, flames so bright they would blind Daemon if they looked directly at her. The gods then chased them, straight up into the sky to encircle the Earth.
It would be their job to light the skies, Emul, dull in light would grace the evening and his wife, bright and beautiful would reign over the day. They would be forever trapped in a circle, always chasing each other.
Oh, but there is a bittersweet ending to this. As Emul chased his lover, tears fell, shimmering in the evening sky. The goddess of love saw the hung tears and felt her heart soften. Although she was not powerful enough to break the spell, she did swear to weaken it. Three times a year, for a few minutes at a time, the curse would weaken enough; they could embrace and be together.
The first part of three-- the Wife; the Sun.
The second part will be the Husband; the Moon and the third will be their embrace.
