Artwork Description

A sanctuary deep in the darkness of the forest. This was one of my first paintings, and my largest so far - 24x20.

Your landscapes are wonderful! I love the sense of peace in this scene and the colour scheme. A magical clearing Smile

Yes, a person gets a warm feeling when entering this glade. There is a definite contrast between the tall, slightly menacing trees and the warmth of the bars of sunlight filtering through into this unexpected spot. Congratulations on doing such a large piece. I very seldom do them myself. The look of such a large, blank canvas sitting in front of me is intimidating!

this is such a beautiful mood. do you know the swedish artist john bauer? kinda reminds meof his works.

This was a peaceful painting to do. I'm fairly happy with the results, even with the technical shortcomings.

A good friend of mine called my Elfwood gallery a sanctuary where he could contemplate. But my gallery is no way a comparison to this wonderful painting! The trees on this image are so beautiful, the atmosphere is so warm and soft! The lights coming from the windows are so inviting. I love this painting.
Dear Chad, as a new member of your Epilogue gallery, I just need to say, it's a delight to be here on your site, enjoying your sweet hospitality. You are a great host, thank you!

Art at its best.
