The Knave. The Seductress. The Ogre.
Illustration for a short story anthology by Johnathon Fesmire.
Oh, actually you're perfectly correct. She's supposed to be coming alive in the upper half, because all three of the statues come to life in the story. So I wanted to show her in mid-transformation.
You can tell that they are statues although _I_ couldn't tell at first because I didn't look at all the details. But 'The Seductress' looks almost alive at the upper part of the body...the ivy around her legs throws that off though... I think you did very well!
hey that's beautiful! They really look like as they were made of stone!
There are some -brave- pigeons in the world. I mean you have to practically step on their tail feathers to make them move out of your way. So pigeons on your shoulders isn't neccessarily a sign of non-life. =)
Oh yes, don't worry And not only because there are pigeons *sorry bwahaha* I like this pict a lot !
Thanks soph! They're supposed to be statues...hm...i hope that you can tell that they are.
I love the monochromatic mood and those dark outlines around your characters ...Very Art Nouveau I love
I want to live in one of these beautiful forests that you create.
Watercolors are just so soft and elegant, they make your drawings seem alive.
Wonderful work as always, blah blah blah. You know, Stephanie, it's really hard commenting on your pictures without sounding like a parrot Everything has been said before. So I'll shut up now. *stares at the images silently*
Your mastery of watercolour just inspires me. I'm hoping that I'm going in the right direction. Your colours are so well established, and your shapes so well defined.
