Hi i'm italian so i'll try to express my comment as better as I can (and I'm sure that just this phrase is full of mistakes...)
anyway...

It is indeed quite nice, but staggeringly Parkesian. That aspect is, in fact, what prompted me to have a look. Is it meant as an homage of sorts?

Hardly! I personally own 4 original's, 2 calendars, her artbook, 5 inspired tattoo's and quite a few misc. items from her beautiful collection. This woman's artwork keeps me going, and one day...when I get off my lazy bum, I WILL take her drawings to my seamstress to make a collection of person outfits, much better than the faire garb i currently own...I love Brown's watercolors, and could NEVER get enough

O.O Holy crap. *faints* I never knew you were on this site. n__n I've always admired your work and it's wonderful that I finaly get to tell you. *claps hands joyfully* I must say this picture has always caught my attention even after seeing it over 50 times (okay, so I may exaggerate a little) it still is amazing. I simply adore the way you watercolour and how you make your faeries look. Anywho... I'll leave it at that. n__n *tips hat*

Being an artist myself, I can only presume that by "propotion" you in fact mean proportion (note the second "r"). However, I glanced at this piece that you are attempting to degrade (because Amy doesn't seem to reply to these boards personally) and would argue that there is nothing "off" about her proportions that don't naturally occur within humankind. Perhaps you are trying to say that some people have more perspective sense than she might display in this particular piece (in reference to the tile floor). If THAT was what you were going for, 10/31, then I might agree, although there are also such things as "artistic liberties" that artists normally toy with. Besides, isn't this a fantasy gallery? On Amy's behalf (not knowing her nor ever having met her) I will simply say, "Success is the best revenge." She seems to have done fine Smile .

this is a beautiful picture, but it looks as though you used michael parkes as a reference point for your work. The similarities are quite evident
