Artwork Description

The Chariot, the 7th card of the Major Arcana, represents a balance of the Inner and Outer self - the soul in disciplined balance. This is a card of self-control, will-power, focus, and confidence. Assertive and forceful, it implies mastery, conquest and triumph, symbolizing energy and determination, charisma, leadership, and the ambition to harness ones abilities toward a greater purpose.

In traditional Western zodiac, it is tied to the introspective sign of Cancer.

I actually see the idea of the ties to Cancer in there, with the moon and other water sigils. I like it very much!

Thank you! Truth be told, I do too! I was so happy with how it turned out. Some people think this card is a reference to Poseidon, particularly with the Hippocampus pulling the chariot. In actual fact, at the time I had the Celtic god Manannan in mind - master of the sea and a deity of magic, and travelers - hence that vibrant Celtic coloring to skin and hair. Smile
