One more piece from the Zintara novel. A mix of acrylic, oil, and digital media.
[ L O V E ] the colors!
acrylics?! wow, your good. the rocky texture that you have painted looks so real, nice castle design!
Just wonderful Michel I think the figure is really needed to give the island and castle it's sense of great size and height. I leaves me feeling very small indeed!
just one, word...increadable.
how one earth did you do this?
Wow,this is wonderful!
That is GORGEOUS. Wonderful work here.
I agree with the previous comments Michel, top quality picture. Though the sea seems a touch 'solid'- a minor quibble, excellent painting.
Igino, I have to confess that my blend of mediums in a piece is a mix of logic, emotion, time, and even health. The Castle and mountain are primarily done in acrylic to maximize the texture since computers don't do that very well. Then I just felt like I wanted to feel the pleasure of brush and oil and did the ocean with it. I would have painted the figure as well in oils but I wanted the advantage of blowing up the view in the computer rather than ruining my eyes. Finaly the sky was painted with the airbrush tool in photoshop as well as adjusting colors overall.
Anna, the reason that there is a figure in the piece is twofold. One: this is part of the Zintara novel and her discovery of this place has a large effect on the character's development. Two, the composition is the very stable triangular one but I wanted to make sure the eye moved around the piece. Since most people look at pictures roughly from upper left to lower right i wanted them to encounter the figure which would nudge them leftward, then to be picked up by the crashing wave, and then to follow the crags back to the castle on top to perhaps start the whole circle again.
I really love to see such kind of skill! The mediums you used blend so beautifully together. Stunning detail too ... wow!
Very nice painting! I like everything about it except one thing, I think that the person in the corner seems to bring the eye downward and looses the intensity of the rest of the picture. Maybe it's just me, I tend to see things strangly. Great piece!
Such a marvellous painting, what a beautiful colours in the sky and the water. Great composition too!
very nice work!
I wiould like to see the high res. Image.
